The two sides of JFire

JFire was originally started as a robust and flexible software framework for easily implementing sector-specific (or even company-specific) custom ERP applications. Due to its very modular architecture, even non-ERP applications can be built on top of the JFire platform, making use of solely the fundamental functionality, like multi-tenancy and user management, access control or client-server communication.

Though, JFire still aims primarily at providing a powerful framework, more and more ready-to-use components came into existence over time: For example full-blown issue-tracking, telephone system integration or voucher management to name just a few of them.

Thus, JFire has two sides today:

You can use it as platform to build your own custom application.

Or you can just use it as it is - so to say off-the-shelf.
