ReportingJFire contains two types of reporting features. The application provides several listings with customizable search criteria and result presentation. These listings usually support direct actions for the results (e.g. printing or editing) as well as storing the search criteria for later reuse. Additionally JFire integrates a reporting-engine (BIRT) that enables for the creation of sophisticated reports in different formats like PDF, Word or Excel. Through this integration JFire users can use the built-in reports but also create their own reports using an integrated report editor and JFire datasources.

In order to change reports, either structually or only in layout and design, JFire provides an integrated graphical report editor. You can change existing reports and create new reports and categorize them. You can localize all the texts and labels in different languages. You can define righs which users are allowed to modify and run reports. Configurable parameter acquisitionConfigure the parameter-acquisition for your custom report. Integrated in the JFire Report Designer is an graphical parameter acquisition editor. You can choose from common predefined types of parameters, like user or customer selection, date ranges and many more. The parameters can be combined and the corresponding user interface for the input data will be created automatically. This simplifies the parameter acquisition alot and makes design reports fun. | Export reports in different formatsExport reports to different formats including PDF, HTML and office formats like XLS or DOC. An PDF and HTML Viewer is included in JFire so that the generated results can be seen and saved inside the application. In case a browser plugin is installed you can also see the PDFs in Adobe Reader or office files in MS Office inside JFire. | |
Data-sourcesJFire offers a wide range of built-in and predefined data-sources, for accessing and quering data which should be displayed in the reports. In case special data-sources are necessary you can also define new data-sources.
