During the development of the accounting features of JFire great effort was put into the correct implementation of general accepted accounting principles. The system is currently confined to correctly manage accounts receivable and payable, but using this as a basis and with country-specific reporting it could be extended to a full-featured accounting system, that does the complete accounting in your company.

Business process management

The status of trade documents within JFire is controlled by a workflow engine. This provides a clear step-by-step processing for the users starting with the entry of a customer request to the product delivery. Additionally the processes allow for the definition of custom steps specialized to your business use-case.

Financial accounting

The JFire accounting module implements the principles of double entry bookkeeping. Booking and payment are separate processes. All transactions create correct journal entries for the accounts payable and accounts receivable. Additionally manual journal bookings are possible. For the local organisation an unlimited number of accounts can be managed in your chart of accounts.

Moneyflow configuration

The distribution of money upon trade transactions (sale & purchase) can be configured individually for each product. This rule-based configuration can be used to implement specific accounting schemes or your own distribution scheme. A built-in consistency-check will ensure that wrong configuration will not corrupt the accounting data.

Multi currency support

JFire supports transactions in multiple currencies and automatically manages the creation and usage of per-currency accounts.

Transaction overview

A well-arranged overview perspective lets you track outstanding invoices or quotes not turned into orders yet. From the overview you can directly print the documents or start editing them. The overview also allows you to list your accounts and issue manual bookings. The queries for the different document-types can be stored for reuse.

Reporting & analysis

The application comprises many listings that support direct actions on the documents. Additionally reports can be created using a reporting-engine (BIRT) integration. You can directly view or print the built-in reports like a sales statistic, general ledger journals and others. Additionally you can define your own reports using JFire data-sources and a built-in report editor. You can export the reports to different formats like Word or Excel. Additionally you can scheduled the execution of a report and receive its result as email.
